Microgroove

This is the first band I played bass in. It was early 1991. I had previously been singing in other groups. MicroGroove consisted of Mick Hoglund (later of The Poppies, The DynoTones, and PJ Hooker) on guitar and vocals and Oscar Opadocka also singing and playing guitar. Both are brilliant song writers. We had a 60’s edge reminiscent of the birds and The Velvet Underground. We were too late for the 60’s and too early for the resurgence of nostalgia. Jim DeBeau soon joined and we became The Poppies and pressed a 7 inch 33 1/3 single
